A 28-year-old chainsaw operator, Victor Mewugah, has confessed to killing two taxi drivers and stealing their vehicles.

He is said to have killed one Isaac Owusu, 29, on June 7, 2013 in Derma near Bechem in the Brong Ahafo Region and another person (name not given) at Asuoso near Abofour in the Ashanti Region.

Mewugah confessed to the killings after being picked-up from his hide out on March 8, 2014 at Akim Abenaso in the Eastern Region. He had been on the run since June last year.

Aside admitting to the charges in his police caution statement, the suspect repeated his confession in the presence of the media moments before he was arraigned in court on Wednesday.
