The Senior Staff Union Association of GOIL, which is the leading oil marketing company in Ghana has donated food items including bags of rice, bags of sugar, boxes of soap, gallons of oil, assorted crates of mineral, crates of eggs, toiletries, bucket of paints among other items to the patients of Accra psychiatric hospital.

According to the Senior Staff Association of GOIL, the gesture forms part of their corporate social responsibilities considering the challenges confronting the hospital and the need to put smiles on the faces of the patients during the festive season.

“It has always been the government’s duty but we as citizens, what do we do to support such cause? It is in view of this that GOIL has decided to donate this to you so that it would help you to also take good care of our inmates here. It is no fault of theirs, they just happen to be here. It can happen to any of us here”, Thomas Domfeh, Vice President of the Senior Staff Association of GOIL stated.

Dr. Ama Boadu, Head of Public Relations, Accra Psychiatric Hospital said, “We want to assure you that all these items that you have donated will go into the care of the patients and none will be diverted anywhere”.
