Cameroon held by Mali, Ivory Coast and Guinea share spoils

Cameroon needed a late equalizer from Ambroise Oyongo to secure a 1-1 draw in their Africa Cup of Nations Group D match against Mali in Malabo on Tuesday evening.

Mali opened the scoring through Sambou Yatabare in the 71st minute before the Indomitable Lions restored parity in the 83rd minute to force the game into a stalemate.

Earlier in the day, 10-man Ivory Coast held a more efficient Guinea side to a 1-1 draw after benefiting from a 72nd minute equalizer by substitute Seydou Doumbia that canceled out the opener from Mohammed Yattara in the 36th minute.

Herve Renard’s Elephants finished the game without Gervinho after the Roma attacker was red card in the second half.

The AFCON continues on Wednesday with host Equatorial Guinea tackling Burkina Faso while Congo attempt to upset Gabon.
