Ayariga blames Ghana’s woes on silence of good people

Presidential Candidate of the People’s National Convention (PNC) during the 2012 elections Hassan Ayariga says the seeming hardship being suffered by Ghanaians is as a result of the silence of the good ones.

“The good people of this country are quiet and silent about what is happening in Ghana.”

Mr Ayariga was speaking to TV3’s Kenneth Osei Ampofo over the weekend when he made these remarks.

He was particularly referring to the celebration of the ideals of Ghana’s first president, Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah, arguing that more of such persons are in the system but “they are silent”.

“We fail [as a nation] not because we have bad people in the system but because the good ones are not talking.”

The PNC flagbearer noted: “That is why we are not able to achieve our aim as a nation.”

He was worried most Ghanaians are not committed to the cause of the nation anymore.

"We are all not committed to national development," he stressed, calling for a change in attitude and embrace of patriotism.
