Atta-Akyea wins Abuakwa South Constituency NPP primaries

Bunso, May 28, GNA - Mr Samuel Atta-Akyea, an Accra-based Legal Practitioner, on Wednesday won the NPP Parliamentary primaries for Abuakwa South constituency at a special delegates conference held at Bunso.

He polled 49 votes to beat Mr Kwame Boateng who had 17 votes, Miss Gloria Ofori Boadu, 10 votes Nana Fredua Ofori-Atta, five votes, . Mr Atta-Akyea, expressed appreciation to the delegates for their support and called for unity and hard work to ensure victory for the Party in the constituency.

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Incumbent Member of Parliament for the Constituency and NPP Flag bearer, expressed appreciation for the peaceful primaries describing it as a sign of maturity. He said NPP Government had demonstrated to Ghanaians that they did not make a mistake in voting them into power because despite the world economic crisis, Ghana's economy had been well managed and was still strong.

Nana Akufo-Addo assured Ghanaians that for the first time in the political history of Ghana, she would have a government in January 2009 with the financial resources to ensure total development of the country. 28 May 08
