Atta Akyea attacked; Okyehene fingered

The Member of Parliament for Abuakwa South, Samuel Atta Akyea, was reportedly attacked by some men believed to be coming from the Okyehene’s palace over the weekend.

According to some NPP officials in the constituency, the MP’s convoy was returning from a funeral when the men attacked him.

The Abuakwa South Constituency secretary, Yaw Bampo, alleged that the attackers accused the MP of fueling allegations against the Okyehene Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panyin II.

“On our way back there was a car coming behind us. So I asked the driver to slow down, so immediately it stopped and they crashed our car. All I saw was that they were coming at me with guns and cutlasses,” he narrated to Citi News.

Bampo said he was injured during the attack although he claimed the MP escaped unharmed.
