Amnesty International Ghana (AIG) is pleased to announce the appointment of Belinda Adikie Asamanyuah (a member of Amnesty International Ghana) as a member of the GLOBAL YOUTH COLLECTIVE by the International Secretariat of Amnesty International.

Amnesty International Global Youth Collective is a team of Amnesty International youth leaders (under 25 years old) and Amnesty staff, with a youth brief, from across the globe who are champions for youth engagement and participation.

As champions, they bring the thought leadership that is needed to reach the goals in the International Youth Strategy and look for opportunities to advance its implementation.

Young people are a core constituency of Amnesty International’s identity and are key agents to the achievement of the movement’s human rights goals and growth agenda.

Young people will continue to contribute to Amnesty International’s vision of a world in which every person enjoys all human rights and affirms the dignity of all people.

Far from being bystanders or victims, Amnesty International believes young people can be agents of change. By drawing on their energy, creativity and skills the movement will be able to achieve its vision, mission and Strategic Goals.

Belinda Asamanyuah is currently a final year student of the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) and has been a member of AIG for four years volunteering in various roles in the organization.

She will serve on the Global Youth Collective for two years with effect from May 2019. She is one of the two youth representing the African Region.

On behalf of the entire members of Amnesty International Ghana, we wish to congratulate MS. Belinda Adikie Asamanyuah on her appointment as a member of the Global Youth Collective.
