Akufo-Addo's government size is a departure from competence

President Akufo-Addo President Akufo-Addo

The Center for Progressive Governance (CenProG) has been dealt a huge confidence blow in the current government by the number of Ministers of state appointed by President Akuffo Addo.

CenProG is yet to come to the realities of the fact that a country as small as Ghana, with all its economic woes as we are told by the current government, can still afford 110 ministers and deputies which in itself is a departure from the promise of a lean government by the NPP even if it was no captured in their manifesto.

The wanton disregard of the burden of 110 ministers will place on the tax payer is very worrying taking into account that many of these portfolios overlap and some are entirely unnecessary in the day to day activities of government. This exposes the Akuffo Addo government as clueless and a government under pressure to satisfy anybody who contributed to their electoral success.

Competence is judged by how much you can achieve with the little you have and so a government as huge as it is currently has lost the moral right to hold itself as competent and has really let discerning Ghanaians down.

As it stands, increment in National Service Personnel allowance has not been effected due to the state of the country's finances and yet the government finds it prudent to put 110 ministers of st ate on the country's payroll with all their associated benefits.

CenProG is of the view that the NPP government has effectively surrendered itself as INCOMPETENT and CLUELESS and must as a matter of urgency apologize to Ghanaians for blackmailing us to vote for their INCOMPETENCE!

God Bless our homeland Ghana and make it GREAT and STRONG.

Signed
