Akufo-Addo is the right man to fight ‘galamsey’ – Ursula Owusu

Communications Minister, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful says she believes that President Akufo-Addo is the right man to fight the recurring illegal small mining menace known as ‘galamsey.

According to her, she expects the President to on the floor of parliament today at the State of the Nation Address (SONA) emphasize his commitment to ending the ‘galamsey’ canker.

“I expect the President to emphasize his commitment to end ‘galamsey’. We need to solve this problem once and for all and Nana Addo is the right man for this fight” Ursula Owusu-Ekuful told Joy News on Thursday, February, 20.

Reacting on the ‘galamsey’ menace, former Gender Minister, Nana Oye Lithur, on her part says Akufo-Addo should in his address assure the nation that he is committed and ready to punish offenders who are involved in ‘galamsey’.

“We need to punish those who have destroyed our water bodies. Akufo-Addo must show us that he is indeed the President of the Republic of Ghana,” Oye Lithur said.
