African Basketball League: Refs, Commissioners Listed

The names of the officials for the 2006 African Men?s Basketball Championship have been released.. The African Champions Club play off which would be hosted by Nigeria/Dodan Warriors is billed for Lagos from November 17-26th. The list made available to THISDAYSports has the Neutral Referees as: Chlif Abdelilah (Morocco), Abreu Mihumua (Mozambique), Boura?ma Moussa (Benin) and Idrissu Ayambire (Ghana).'

The Match Commissioners are Dr Gueye Aboucar Gueye (Guinea), Abdallah Haidara (Mali), Mrs Engama In?s (Cameroon) and Muktar Adamu Khaleh (Nigeria). Khaleh is a member of the Nigeria Basketball Federation and President of FIBA Africa Zone Three.

The FIBA Africa (International Basketball Federation) officials are listed as President Allain Ekra, Secretary General Bile Alfonse, the President of Competition Commission and the Statistician: Obande Ogbole (Nigeria). The FIBA Secretariat will also supply officers.

Dodan Warriors who finished as runners-up in the Vmobile Premier League last July qualified for the final play by virtue of the position as host club. Plateau Peaks who are current league champions got a berth following the qualifying series held in Abidjan this month. Former league champions and Nigeria?s other representatives Ebun Comets failed to qualify from the Abidjan play off for African Zone Three teams.
