Nana Eduabakwah XIII, the Chief of Abura Adukrom in the Central Region has appealed to the government to rehabilitate the road from the community to Cape Coast.

He said the state of the road has become a death trap, especially for pregnant women and the sick, who could not bear the pains they had to go through before getting to a hospital.

Nana Eduabakwah made the appeal in an interview with the Ghana News Agency.

He said the condition of the road needed immediate attention as it was affecting productivity of the people, who have to spend long hours before reaching their destination.

He also pleaded with the government and by extension the Ghana Water Company to provide the community with potable water, saying that they lacked drinkable water for the past two decades.

Nana Aseidu Kwakwah, the Mpotuhene of Abura Adukrom, advised parents to take advantage of the government’s free education policy to enroll their children in school for them to become good future assets for the nation.

“We have basic and junior high schools in the community but many of the children nowadays have little or no passion for education, which would negatively affect their life and parents need to understand that it is virtually impossible for anything meaningful to be achieved without education,” he said.

Nana Kwakwah expressed gratitude to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the free education policy, which he said, had given opportunity to every child to have access to secondary education.
