The flagbearer of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has paid a glowing tribute in memory of the late former Deputy Minister of Finance and MP for Ejisu, John Kumah.

John Kumah passed away in March this year, and his burial and final funeral rites are being held in his hometown, Onwe, in the Ejisu Constituency today.

In a tribute he read, Dr. Bawumia described John Kumah in glowing terms, praising his character and commitment to work, and lamenting the void his absence has created.

"A man blessed with a good heart. His departure has left a void, and this grief is beyond consolation", Dr. Bawumia said in his tribute, published in the official funeral brochure.

"Nature has dealt us a cruel blow, taking John away in his prime. Indeed, we have lost a dedicated public servant. I have lost a friend and a strong supporter. We appeal to the Good Lord to keep John in His bosom. While we are gathered here to mourn and are still in shock, we find solace in John's remarkable legacy. So much was done and achieved in his short stay on earth", he continued.

Dr. Bawumia added that John Kumah's journey in Ghanaian politics transcended a mere career, as he was 'an astute legislator and a principled politician whose dedication to advocacy and profound empathy for citizens, particularly his constituents, made him a beacon of hope and a man of the people. John exemplified compassion in all he did.'

Dr. Bawumia also praised the late John Kumah for his contributions to the New Patriotic Party, describing them as 'invaluable.'

"He made a lasting impact with the Young Patriots. He was not only a driving force but also a fervent advocate for advancing the NPP's agenda," the NPP flagbearer added.

"Under his leadership, this group played a crucial role in promoting the party's ideals and engaging the youth of our country. Additionally, John served the party with distinction as a communicator, effectively conveying the NPP's message and fostering political engagement among the populace."

Beyond his distinguished service to the party, Dr. Bawumia also commended the late John Kumah's tenure as a Member of Parliament and as a Minister of State in the government of President Akufo-Addo.

"His legislative achievements touched countless lives and uplifted many hearts, particularly among the youth of the Ejisu constituency and beyond."

"Beyond parliament, John's tenure as Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP) was marked by the diligent execution of his duties, which met the admiration of all. With his exceptional intellectual capacity and drive, his initiatives focused on empowering the youth and forging a brighter future for Ghana's next generation. His commitment to national development remains indelible, and he has left an enduring mark on our country's trajectory."
