2015 must be a year of “massive transformation” – Asantehene’s wife

The year 2015 must lead to “massive transformation” in the lives of Ghanaians and the economy, according to the wife of the Asantehene.

Lady Julia Osei-Tutu said next year looks promising and Ghanaians must pray for more blessings on the country that will lead to prosperity.

She stated that a clean environment leads to long life and once every citizen makes it a priority to keep the surroundings clean, the country will transform.

Speaking at an event under the auspices of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly to usher in the Christmas, she noted: “We pray for a prosperous New Year – a year of massive transformation in our lovely city. Let our goal be to keep our city clean for our own benefit.”

Lady Osei-Tutu added: “Do enjoy the festivities but also do endeavour to keep yourself safe so that we can all meet in the New Year. We also wish that you remember the unfortunate children in our cities; in our orphanages and any other unfortunate persons as you go about your activities.”

To put Kumasi into the Yuletide mood, the KMA has erected a 125ft Christmas tree. Present at the Nine Lessons and Carols Night were the Kumasi mayor, Kojo Bonsu, Ashanti regional Police Commander, DCOP Kofi Boakye; Brig. Gen. Adu Boampong, General Officer Commanding the Central Command of the Ghana Armed Forces among others.
