In the ongoing limited voter registration exercise in Cape Coast North, the Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justice Agyemang, fell victim to a brutal assault, sustaining cutlass wounds to his head.
An onuaonline.com report said the attack on Agyemang was allegedly carried out by one Eric Sampson, known as Bullet, purportedly the bodyguard of Cape Coast North Member of Parliament, Samuel Kwamena Mintah.
According to report, individuals attempting to register at the center where the chaos erupted were allegedly being obstructed due to suspicions that they had been transported from other locations to the venue.
This resulted in a standoff between the Member of Parliament's entourage and members of the NPP.
The reports indicate that the cutlass that injured the NPP man was in the possession of the MP's bodyguard at a point.
Following the bloody incident, people around rushed the victim to a nearby hospital for attention.
The Electoral Commission's limited registration exercise, which began on May 7, aims to register eligible Ghanaians who have turned 18. The exercise will end on May 27.
