Farmer found dead on tree with gunshot wounds in the head

A farmer has been found dead on a pear tree at Ashiresu in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region.

The farmer, identified as Alhaji Malik, was discovered with gunshot wounds in the head and bloodstains on Sunday, May 12, 2024.

Emerging details suggest that the farmer had gone to harvest pears for sale. However, he was found dead on the tree, with his tricycle known as 'aboboyaa' abandoned at the scene.

Kofi Gyabaa, reporting the incident on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, mentioned that the farmer's family became concerned when he did not return home.

They mountd a search only to find his lifeless body on the tree. Blood was also found flowing from his head onto the floor.

The police were subsequently informed, and an investigation into the incident has commenced. The body was later released to the family for burial, in accordance with Islamic rites.

The late farmer is survived by a wife and more than six children.
