GHANA PROMISES THE WORLD A GOLDEN EXPERIENCE
MONDAY, 27TH JUNE, 2005 -- In a move to position the country on the global market as an active participant, the Government has adopted “Ghana, A Golden Experience” as its brand slogan.
The brand slogan is part of a marketing positioning strategy created by Government to facilitate promotion of the corporate identity of Ghana and its products produced locally, says Kwamena Bartels, private sector development and presidential’s special initiative minister.
He told the paper in an interview at the sixth Ghana Investors Advisory Council meeting at Akosombo in the Eastern Region, on Friday, that the slogan was developed from the consumers’ perspective to sharpen the public relations strategy for Ghana within the sub-regional market, as well as the international markets.
Mr Bartels explained that the idea is to attract consumers’ attention to made-in-Ghana products, and investors to the favourable investment climate in the country.
A committee has been put in place to plan how to publicise the brand slogan locally and internationally. “As part of the branding strategy, every product from Ghana will have an imprint of the brand symbol, with this, made in Ghana goods will convey the message of golden experience,” he added.
Citing the example of chocolates, Mr Bartels said, “a chocolate bar for example will show an inscription of golden tastes.” A programme has also been put in place to get all high commissioners and ambassadors to market the brand name in line with the country’s trade policies.
Mr Bartels said his ministry will rely on both government and private sector to get the brand name across the globe.
