I sometimes weep when I watch my old videos – Charles Taylor

Mercurial playmaker Charles Taylor has admitted that he sometimes gets emotional when watching some footage of his glory days with Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko.

Taylor, who joined Accra Hearts of Oak from Accra Great Olympics before his switch to Asante Kotoko, made a huge impact in all three clubs as he dazed opponents with his slippery skill and jaw-dropping performances in games.

He was part of the first Ghana team that won silver at the CHAN tournament. But his career took a nosedive after joining Kotoko as he was hit with a series of injuries most of whom he blamed on the then officials of Hearts of Oak.

Taylor then moved from Kotoko to Berekum Chelsea, but again, performed below par because of injuries, and this according to the player, has been a major source of worry for him.

“Football is what I do and anytime I get injured, my recovery takes longer. I am fine now, but honestly, I believe that if it wasn’t for the many injuries I had, I know I [would] have been a part of the current Black Stars team,” Taylor told SportsCrusader.com

“It’s all in the past, but I sometimes weep when I watch matches that I have played for both Hearts and Kotoko because I feel this shouldn’t have been my present destination in terms of my career,” he added.
