Edward Affum desperate for return to Hearts of Oak

Attacker Edward Afum has told Hearts of Oak that he wants to return to playing for the Accra-based giants for the upcoming football season.

Affum, who is a free agent, has invited the club’s coaching staff to give him the chance to impress for the club once again after being impressed with their preparation since Herbert Addo took over.

The striker says he started the move to return to the Phobians but the deal collapsed following the decision by the former CEO Neil Armstong Mortagbe to leave the post.

Affum says he was in advanced talks with Mortagbe before internal problems led to the CEO leaving the post but insists he wants to restart his career at Hearts.

“I want to return to Hearts of Oak because now I am not attached to any team and also a free agent,” Affum said.

“I have been thinking about this for some time now and I feel the Phobians will afford me the right platform to re-launch my career as a player.

“The response I got from that meeting was good, but a few weeks later he (Neil Armstrong) left Hearts, so it became a little difficult for me. But I still have my sights set on Hearts and wish to return.”

The former Asante Kotoko striker could be a good addition.
