Atiwa Spikers stun league leaders

Atiwa Spikers showed a spirited performance to defeat North East Volleyball league leaders, Court Winners of Donkorkrom by 3-1 in the ongoing Eastern Regional Volleyball league.

Atiwa spikers won the first set 25 to 20, with Court Winners coming back strongly to win the second set 25 to 21.

Atiwa Spikers with home support and advantage managed to win the third and fourth sets, 25 to 23 and 25 to 23 respectively to win the match and raised their hopes of qualifying for the next stage of the league.

Court Winners lead the North East table with six points and have automatically qualiied for the semifinals of the league, but Atiwa Spikers have to wait for the match between Viber Hands of Akwatia and Super Rangers of Akim Swedru to determine who qualify for the semifinals .

Two teams are expected to qualify from each zone, South East and North East to play the semifinals slated for September and would be hosted by Donkorkrom.
