Agrah pledges NSC support for Tennis promotion

The National Sports Council will not relent in efforts to develop and promote the sport of tennis to rival other disciplines in order to not only unearth talents, but bring glory and honour to the nation. Worlanyo K. Agrah, CEO of the NSC made the pledge last Saturday in his closing remarks at the 2nd* e**dition of the Ghana Tennis Association‘s annual inter-club Social Tennis Championship dubbed ‘President’s Cup’ which came off at the Accra Sports Stadium Tennis Courts.

*“The NSC will continue to support tennis to reach the level we all want. I promised during the West African Juniors tournament in Winneba to organize courses for the coaches and it will come on before the end of this month. I have been impressed by the energy displayed today despite your ages,” Mr. Agrah stated.*

*Prince Ablorh of Ghana Commercial Bank beat Dr. Bankah 7-4 in the final to win the ultimate in the men’s singles competition and its accompanying trophy and souvenirs from sponsors UBI Petroleum. The pair of Louis Addo and Kwabena Kwarteng of the Stadium Tennis Club defeated Ghana Commercial Bank 7-3 to win the men’s doubles with Accra Lawn Tennis Club’s pair of Zanabu Akoto and Bernice Taylor clinching the ladies’ doubles with victory over runners-up Stadium Tennis Club.*

*UBI which sponsored the maiden President’s Cup last year, have promised to return again next year after hailing the success of this year’s event. “UBI is most grateful to be associated with this event which also gives us the opportunity to introduce ourselves to Ghanaians.
