Derek Asamoah training with Carlisle

Manager Keith Curle has confirmed that former international striker Derek Asamoah is training with Carlisle at the moment.
How likely it is that the former Ghanaian international, who is currently without a club, will sign for us isn’t yet known but Curle has confirmed that the striker, who he has worked with previously, is with us to ‘work on his fitness’ at the moment.
Asamoah has most recently been plying his trade in the obscurity of South Korea with Daegu FC, Pohang Steelers before that and also includes the likes of Slough Town, Northampton Town, Lincoln City and Shrewsbury Town from previous spells in England.
French outfit OGC Nice have been played for along with Scottish and Bulgarian sides Hamilton and Lokomotiv Sofia, respectively, in the well-travelled 33-year-olds career to date.
Curle and Asamoah worked together at Mansfield Town and Chester City, further former clubs of his, with the four-times capped man now looking to earn himself a deal with us, with him possibly getting a run out in a friendly we have this week?
