Hamza Mohammed hints at RTU return

Former RTU captain Hamza Mohammed has reiterated his desire to rejoin the club in a bid to revive his football career. The 30-year old midfielder is currently a free agent after his contract at King Faisal expired last year.

In an exclusive interview with Tamale-based Zaa Fm, the charismatic player revealed he still has plans of playing active football.

The former Ghana under-20 captain is currently undertaking a distance learning course in football administration and is due to end next year but has revealed he fancies a move back to his former club Real Tamale United in a bid to re-launch his carrier and will jump at the opportunity if an offer is made available.

“I still have some football in me and I can help RTU in many ways. RTU is my childhood club and returning to where it all began will be fantastic,” Hamza said.

It will be a massive boost if RTU decides to re-engage the services of their former captain Hamza Mohammed. The Tamale-based side were relegated from the Ghana Premier League following their poor run in the 2010/2011 season, and they are now battling to get back into the elite division.

However the club has won a place in the play-off League, which is a massive boost, in their attempt to return to premiership football.

Hamza Mohammed was captain of Ghana's under-20 side, the Black Satellites when they won gold at the Africa Youth Championship in 1999 on home soil, making him the first northerner to achieve that feat.
