Razak Pimpong joins Aalesund in Norway

Ghana striker Razak Pimpong has joined Norwegian side Premier League side Aalesund ahead of the start of the new season.

The 25-year-old moves from rival Tappaligaen giants Viking on loan until the end of the season.

Pimpong says he has made the move to get regular playing time in the Norwegian league.

"I am keen on playing first team football that is why I opted to go on loan Aalesund," Pimpong told Ghanasoccernet.

"It is important that I compete among the best and sitting on the bench is not the way to do it."

Pimpong has scored twice in 11 appearances for Viking since joining them for Danish giants FC Copenhagen last year.

His move to Aalesund will ensure more playing time in the Norwegian league that starts next week.

He is expected to revert to Viking at the end of the season as he is contracted until 2010.
