      He began his career in Ghana at Golden Tulip before moving to Accra Great Olympics.
    Currently based in Denmark, he spent over five years with FC Midtjylland before moving to FC Copenhagen in January 2006.
    He was part of the Ghanaian 2004 Olympic football team, who exited in the first round, having finished in third place in group B. He won his first cap for Ghana’s senior national side in a 2002 friendly against Nigeria

    • March 2007: Razak Pimpong has signed for the Norwegian club, Viking for €500,000 on a 4-year-contract. He moved from he Danish Club FC Copenhagen.

      Former Ghana striker, Razak Pimpong, has finally quit football after a long playing career which included 13 years abroad.

      Pimpong, who played at the 2006 World Cup officially parted ways with his last club, FF Viborg in Denmark late last month before announcing his retirement.

      He helped the club to qualify for the Danish Super Liga for the first time in their history last season.

      The 30-year-old played for Accra Great Olympics before moving to Europe in 2000 where he first joined FC Midtjylland and later played for FC Copenhagen, Viking, Aeslund, Egyptian side El Masry and finally Viborg.

      “In Africa when you retire from football people easily forget about you so you have to do something essential.

      “Having some projects in mind to do after your playing career is the best,” Pimpong told Goal Ghana in a recent interview during Michael Essien’s Charity game in Accra.
