Lorient still on Ayew’s mind

Wanted man, Jordan Ayew, has admitted that it will be difficult to leave FC Lorient this summer.

The 23-year-old had his best season yet in the French Ligue 1 this past term with new club Lorient after making a permanent move from boyhood club Olympic Marseille last summer.

His rich form has seen him become a target of former Ivory Coast coach Herve Renard who recently took over the coaching position at LOSC Lille. They worked together at Sochaux a couple of seasons ago.

Renard has placed the Ghana international as one of his top summer targets but Ayew who seemingly welcomes the chance of working with the Frenchman again however is cautious about forcing his way out of his current club where he has been made to feel very at home since joining on July 28, 2014.

“I had a great season this term at Lorient. The team loves me, the fans and administration love me so I think it is going to be very difficult for me to leave. But we will see what happens when I return to France,” Jordan said after making a second half appearance in Ghana’s 1-0 international friendly win over Togo in Accra on Monday.

“I know it will be very difficult so I think if I stay one more year, it is not going to be a bad choice for me,” he added.

Jordan Ayew started 29 of the 31 games he featured in for Lorient in the Ligue 1 and scored a dozen goals with six assists this past season.
