GHALCA Top 4 reborn

The Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) Top Four Tournament which has not been played for the past two years has come back following the hard work of the executives led by Chairman Alhaji Raji.

He noted that the rebirth of the GHALCA Top 4 makes it a tournament to watch because it allows football fans to know their newly signed players before the commencement of the season and gives them motivation to support.

According to Alhaji Raji, this year’s tournament would be played by Asante Kotoko, Accra Herats of Oak, Kpando Heart of Lions and Obuasi AshGold.

He hinted that the event kicks off on Sunday August 24, 2014 in Accra and ends on Sunday September 14, 2014 in Kumasi, with Voltic Mineral Water as the only partner that has come on board to sponsor.

The GHALCA Chairman urged the media to promote the event to attract other sponsors and for the fans to troop the stadium.

Representatives of the participating clubs assured the media that they are ready and prepared to play and win the elegant trophy at stake.

Isaac Koomson, Vice Chairman of GHALCA told yours truly the tournament would be patronized as Ghanaians are hungry to watch football after the World Cup. He expressed that the home team would get 60% of the gate proceeds with 30% going to GHALCA and 10% for the away team.

The GHALCA Top for Event Committee is chaired by Dan Ansah of Cape Coast Dwarfs. Other members are Kofi Manu, Mohammed Alhassan, Dela Senaya, Sam Abuabri, Oduro Sarfo, Nana Kwame and George Amoako.
