Stephen Adams ready for goalkeeping fight

Stephen Adams, the only local-based player to make it into Ghana's 26-man provisional squad for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, has indicated that he will fight hard to take charge of the goalkeeping role of the Black Stars.

The Aduana Stars goalkeeper, who played a vital role in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) in South Africa, has exhibited his delight to get a call-up and has, therefore, said he will train hard to win Kwesi Appiah’s heart.

“I felt very great after hearing my name mentioned among the 26-provisional list, because it is not easy to get a national team call-up.

“Henceforth I will train very hard so that I will be ready to keep the post when the coach settles on me, he told Metro fm.

The 25-year-old shot-stopper was named in the 30-man provisional list for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, but failed to make the final 23-man squad for the mundial.
