Ex-Ghana international Joe Addo expects a fit- again John Mensah to be included in the squad for the 2014 World Cup in June.
The towering centre-back has recently signed for Slovakian side Nitra FC in a move to enhance his chances of representing the Africans at the global showpiece.
The 31-year-old is now in the frame to fight for a place in the final squad with huge calls for his recall into the team as his enormous experience will be required in Brazil.
Addo, who has remained an avid admirer of the former Stade Rennes and Sunderland centre-back, expects him to be drafted into the team.
“I don’t see why any coach will overlook a fit John Mensah because we all know his pedigree,” said Addo.
“John has always served the nation well and with the experience he’s had at the previous world cup tournaments in Germany and South Africa.
“He is a player whose presence will serve as motivation for the younger ones in the team so therefore if he is fit then I don’t see why he cannot make the team to Brazil”.
Mensah has 79 caps under his belt but has not played for the Black Stars in over two years due to persistent injuries.
