The Confederations of African Football (CAF) have declared its support for the five qualified teams for the 2014 World Cup including Ghana by offering its flagship training facility to the teams going to the tournament.

The declaration came after the CAF Executive Committee meeting which took place on February 21 at the CAF headquarters in Cairo.

The continental football governing body has consequently decided to avail its world class training facility – CAF Centre of Excellence – for the usage of the five teams going to the World Cup in Brazil.

The facility, located in Mbankomo – 25 kilometres away from the Cameroonian capital of Yaounde is now available for the five qualified teams to prepare for the World Cup – which kicks off in June – at no cost to the respective federations.

The training facility boasts artificial and natural playing surfaces, a multipurpose playground for volleyball, basketball and handball, a tennis court, a semi-Olympic size swimming pool, 40-room executive suites [35 of them double with the remaining 5 single], two well-equipped gyms, 110-seater conference room, 104-seater restaurant, villas and so on.

CAF in conjunction with the media officers of the qualified five teams will be forming an expert media group to report exclusive news on the teams throughout the World Cup period.

This means Nigeria, Cameroon, Algeria, Cote d’Ivoire and Ghana will be benefitting from these services from CAF at no cost to their respective federations or associations.

The camping place in Cameroon could however be rendered null as the teams have already planned camping trips away from the African continent to prepare their sides for the World Cup.

CAF is however determined to give its full support to its team in order for them to make a stronger showing at the forthcoming World Cup in Brazil.
