Prince Buaben eyes Ghana’s World Cup squad

Partick Thistle new signing Prince Buaben wants to make Ghana’s World Cup squad as he helps his side to stay up.

Buaben, who made a transfer deadline day loan move from Carlisle to Partick, said his motive is to gatecrash the Black Stars squad for Brazil 2014.

“I spoke to my agent and the Ghana manager Akwasi Appiah and he told me that I needed to be playing regularly if I wanted to have a chance of going to the World Cup and that is why I have come to Partick Thistle," Buaben told Sky Sports.

"I want to play as often as I can and try to impress the Ghana manager so that he takes me to Brazil."

According to the 25-year-old, it was a “disappointment” to have missed the last World Cup in South Africa to injury.

“I was unlucky that I missed the last World Cup with Ghana because of injury and I am determined not to experience that disappointment again. It is a dream for any player to represent their country at a World Cup and I hope I can realise that dream," Buaben added.
