Oti Akenten rejects Gambia FA technical director offer

Francis Oti Akenten has silenced reports he is set to land a deal to be the technical director of Gambian Football Association.

Akenten, who heads the technical directorate of the Ghana FA, has told GHANAsoccernet.com he turned down offer to join the West Africans.

He was part of a CAF Technical Committee in Gambia some few months ago to re-structure their football.

“Yes I was there as a CAF member and saw it necessary that I go there to help them structure their game which is nothing new to me,’’ Akenten told GHANASoccernet.com

“I spent about two weeks there after which they approached me to spend more time but my tight schedule could not allow me.

“ There were talks to try tie me down but I couldn’t take it and for me that’s as far as it goes.’’

Akenten was a member of the CAF Technical Study Group at the just ended CHAN tournament.
