Hearts of Oak MD denies freezing McCarthy’s account

Hearts of Oak have denied flatly reports making rounds that the bank account of goalkeeper Philemon McCarthy has been frozen.

The custodian is reported to be having difficulties accessing his account as a way of punishment by the Phobians over his inability to show up at training.

The managing director of the Accra giants, Neil Armstrong-Mortagbe, has refuted the claim.

“It is not true that management has blocked McCarthy’s account or any other players’ accounts. All you have heard is a lie,” he told Asempa FM.

He added: “We have a Public Relations Officer whose responsibility is to interact with the public and to clarify issues.

“But, for some time now, when people hear stories about the club, they wouldn’t consult him for any clarification before putting it out in the public domain and this I think is affecting the good image of the club.”
