Olele rejects Balikesirspor offer

In the late hours of Friday news broke in the Turkish media that veteran Black Stars goalkeeper Richard 'Olele' Kingson was almost done with negotiations to join second tier club Bal?kesirspor in a two-and-half-year contract.

However, FootyGhana checks reveal that the 2014 World Cup hopeful’s dream of boosting his chances with a move to a more competitive football zone has hit a snag following a failure to reach an agreement with the 4th-placed side in the Turkish second-tier league.

Balikesirspor are said to have closed the chapter on the Ghanaian and are considering other goalkeeping options.

“After negotiations conducted with Richard Kingston’s agent, no deal was ever reached. The club continues to look for alternative transfer negotiations.”

35-year-old Kingson who only returned to active football at Cypriot club Doxa Katokopia last summer after a two-year lull, was hoping to have his medicals in the city of Bal?kesir on Saturday to seal his return to Turkish football where he had previously played for eleven years and even earned the name ‘Faruk Gürsoy’ after securing the citizenship of the European country.

Kingson could still be on his way out of Cyprus as his agent claims of having multiple offers for the shot-stopper who previously featured for six Turkish clubs; Galatasaray , Sakaryaspor, Goztepe, Antalyaspor, Elaz??spor and Ankaraspor between 1996 and 2007.
