Suspended Opare missed Standard Liege heavy win

Ghana defender Daniel Opare was left to watch his Standard Liege side from the screen at home due to suspension when they hammered Kortrijk 5-1 in the Belgian Pro League on Friday evening.

The 23-year-old was serving punishing for picking up three bookings in his last nine games.

His yellow card against Anderlecht on Sunday ruled him out of the Kortrijk clash. Nigerian youngster Imoh Ezekiel hit a first-half double to add to Jelle van Damme early minute strike to complete a first-half riot.

After the break, Michy Batshuayi Tunga and Igor Alberto Camargo topped up the scoring to cement the win for Liege who have now established a four point lead at the top of the table.
