Kotoko pay $2000 fine for late registration

Asante Kotoko paid US$ 2,000 (4,000 Ghana cedis) as fine for the late registration of four players.

The defending champions submitted documents of its new players after the transfer window for the second round had closed.

Kotoko signed four players- Rahim Ayew, Basiru Osman, Isaac Boakye and Francis Larbi Koomson- during the mid-season transfer window.

“I do not think we have to blame anybody. I have heard a lot of things on radio; the media is blaming one person or the other. I want that to stop because it wouldn’t serve Kotoko’s interest,” acting CEO Opoku Nti told the Kotoko Express Newspaper.

Kotoko will play third-tier Waiga United in the MTN Ghana FA Cup round of 64 tie in Bolgatanga on Tuesday afternoon.
