Yiadom is Ghana's most expensive youth player

Striker Richmond Boakye-Yiadom is the highest valued Ghanaian youngster on the international football transfer market.

This follows a proposal by Serie B league leaders Sassuolo to buy out the 50% of contract from Genoa for €4 million.

Juventus bought 50% of his market share for €4m just nine months ago from Genoa. The striker’s other 50% share worth €4m has been requested by Sassuolo after his sterling performance this season has taken them to the brink of Serie A promotion.

It is understood the development follows Juventus’ rejection of an outright €8m bid from Sassuolo for the 20-year-old former Bechem United star.

According to transfermarkt.com, Boakye-Yiadom and Christian Atsu are the highest priced Ghana Under-22 players.

The website rates both Yiadom and Atsu at €6m each with Jordan Ayew in third on €5m.

The quartet of Afriyie Acquah, Emmanuel Agyeman-Badu, Majeed Waris and Mubarak Wakaso are at €2.5m each and in joint fourth position.

In fifth position Joseph Duncan stands with a market worth of €1.5m. While in sixth position Emmanuel Frimpong stands with €1.3m, in seventh it is Daniel Opare on €1.2m.

Jonathan Mensah is on €800,000 whilst Jeff Schlupp, David Accam and Kwame Nsor fall on €500,000, €500,000, and €350,000 respectively.
