DSTV Soccer Africa crew tip Badu to beat Messi

The Soccer Africa crew on Multichoice’s DSTV have unanimously called on all Africans to log on to Fifa.com and vote massively for Ghana international, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu to win the FIFA goal of the year award.

Udinese midfielder, Badu’s goal struck from outside the penalty box against Guinea back in January at the 28th Africa Cup of Nations is up among nine others including the strikes of Messi, Falcao and Neymar contesting for the FIFA Puskas Award 2012. And the panel of the weekly pan-African programme aired every Thursday on Supersport, were vociferous in urging football fans across the continent to log on to http://www.fifa.com/ballondor/puskasaward/index.html to vote for the 21 year old Ghanaian.

“We will tell you about an African player who could win a FIFA award for a goal he scored right here in Africa,” host Thomas Mlambo had pre-empted very early into last week’s programme.

“He scored a cracker of a goal against Guinea and it’s been nominated. There is going to be a shortlist by 29th November but I think Agyemang Badu should make the shortlist. He can beat Messi to the top award so everyone should vote for him,” former Nigeria international goalkeeper, Idah Peterside explained when they finally got to discuss the issue.

“This is the moment that you are proud to be an African,” analyst Thomas Kweinate AKA TK chipped in before Mlambo concluded it all, urging their viewers:

“What you can do is to go to the FIFA website, you can vote and just maybe you might get to see the winner come from Africa.”
