Wakaso delighted to return for Las Palmas

Ghana international Mubarak Wakaso says he is delighted to return to the pitch in his sides 2-0 defeat to Deportivo La Coruna on Saturday night.

Wakaso, who is in his second loan spell after spending last season with Scottish giants Celtic, was introduced in the second half of the game for Dani Castellano but had little time to properly impose himself.

The 25-year-old combative midfielder renowned in his native Ghana for his dedication and commitment has struggled to earn regular playing time under new Las Palmas boss Quique Setien.

But having made his first appearance under the new boss, he says he is happy though the result left him disappointed.

"The feeling was good but we are disappointed to have lost the game because that was the most important thing," The Ghana international told GHANAsoccernet.com

"We will try and come again next week to make our fans proud."

He has been linked with a an exit from the club as early as the January transfer window with some European sides on the wings to take advantage of his situation.

Blessed with an ability to shoot and pass Wakaso is originally a Rubin Kazan player and has had joy in the past in the Spanish La Liga while playing for Espanyol and before that Villareal.
