Prince Tagoe accuses South Americans of age cheating

Former Hearts of Oak striker, Prince Tagoe, has alleged that footballers from South America are guilty of age cheating.

According to Tagoe, age cheating in football, which is mostly associated with African players, is rife in countries such as Brazil and Argentina, who are noted for producing world-class talents.

“I don’t even think the whites use their real age to play football especially Brazilians and Argentines just like some of the Africans.

“Looking at the ball they play when I was in Under-17, I don’t think they use their real age, not all of them but you still can’t do anything about it because that’s what they use in their passport.”

Tagoe, however, added that these players take their diet more seriously than the African players.

“The kind of food they eat and the treatment in their youthful age is different from that of Africans, because in Germany … when it comes to nutrition they are very serious about the food and meat they eat in order to be strong…”

Prince Tagoe, who played for Accra Hearts of Oak in 2004/2005 currently has no club but is hoping to end his career with his boyhood club Accra Hearts of Oak.
