Medeama to pull out of Special Competition

Premier League side Medeama SC is set to pull out of the Normalization Committee Special Competition over what they describe as ‘misplaced and bogus’ fixtures.

The former FA Cup champions have duly communicated their position to the Normalization Committee, insisting immediate changes must be effected in the fixtures to still keep them in the competition.

The Mauve and Yellows are overly uncomfortable with the decision of the committee to fix them in the Northern Zone of the competition, insisting they belong to the Southern Zone.

The decision can, however, change if the committee affects the needed changes.

“We have officially communicated our position to the NC. We are in the Western Region and can’t be pitched with clubs in the northern zone. We belong to the southern zone,” Communications Manager Patrick Akoto confirmed to FootballMadeInGhana.com

He also noted that the committee the Tarkwa-based side were handed three home matches in the fixtures released which he described as unfortunate.

“How can we be playing three home matches continuous? It’s very unfortunate,” he added.

The committee is expected to rectify the unpardonable anomaly before the start of the competition on 15th February.
