Cape Coast based Joseph Amoako proved to be the Most Valuable Player (MVP) at the 2015 Aspire Football Dreams Final Selection at the El - Wak Sports Stadium in Accra on Thursday, October 8, 2015.

Born on 13 September 2002, the young rising star was the toast of the scouts and coaches as he displayed rich football and unmatched skills among the 50 players who passed for the selection process.

The youngster though wasn't surprised, telling journalists he knew how good he is.

“I want to train hard to become one of the best players from Africa. I want to play for the Ghana national team and one of the big clubs in Europe like Barcalona or Arsenal. So this is just the beginning of more to come from me,” he said.

Young Amoako also heaped praises on his coaches and coordinators as well as the staff and Country Director of Aspire Football Dreams Ghana, Captain (rtd) Andy Sam for the opportunity and exposure.

Captain Sam who addressed the players and coordinators after the event revealed that the players have done very well this year and if all things prove right as many as 9 players would represent Ghana.

He said 8 players were selected last year, and this time the players have once again shown commitment and discipline.

Juonjo Rovina from Spain who is one of the most experienced youth coaches in the world congratulated the players and urged them to train hard and practice what they have been taught to become very perfect.

John Felagaha, a goal keepers trainer from Nigeria also praised the players and goalkeepers who showed great potential and skill in the art of keeping.

He noted that Ghana has got a future with the very talented goalkeepers.

Shane Ohannessian, a director of the Aspire Football Dreams Academy in Qatar commended the young players as he was surprised at the high level of football put up. He congratulated the coordinators and coaches who guided the players to become rising stars.

Xavi Connes, a scout and coach who had been to the regions and districts to see how the players are selected and groomed and been part of the selection said Ghana is really blessed with football players and will continue to come to Ghana to find the best players.

Esa Peltola also advised the players to develop themselves through education as they aspire to play professional football and hope for greater things in life.

He urged them to be adventurous, but humble and seek for the best in everything.

Some of the coordinators who showed appreciation through this medium include Augustina Amponsah (Akwetia), Hesse Odamtten (Kasoa), Elder Mike Laryea (Sefwi Asawinso), Zakaria Seidu (Obuasi), Prince George Kouffie (Ablekuma), Abbey Pobee (Kumasi), Allotey Pappoe aka Zawa (Dansoman) and Alex Tetteh aka TT of the Aspire Football Dreams Office in Accra.

A football match that climaxed the programme saw the southern sector coordinators beating their northern counterparts by 4 goals to 3. The northern coordinators led 3-0 before half time, but fatigue made them lose the exciting game which had 500ghc cash and a trophy at stake.

In another fun match, the Aspire Football Dreams staff team with Capt. Andy Sam in defence beat the coordinators 1-0.

The man of the match was Xavi Connas who exhibited his speed, stamina and skill.
