Jordan wins Swansea Player of the Month award

The 26-year-old Ghana international beat two others to the monthly gong at Liberty Stadium.

Swansea City striker Jordan Ayew has been rewarded for his purple patch of form in January with the Player of the Month honour.

The Ghana international, defender Alfie Mawson and goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski made up three candidates shortlisted for the award.

Of seven games played by the club in January, Jordan started five, netting three times.

He scored his first goal in a 1-1 away draw with Newcastle United in the Premier League, before netting a solo effort in the 2-1 triumph over Wolverhampton Wanderers in the FA Cup.

The 26-year-old was at it again towards the end of the month with a cool finish in a 3-1 league victory over Arsenal.

In all, Jordan has 26 topflight appearances, involving 23 starts and five goals, to his name this season.
