Al Ahly striker John Antwi has shrugged off a muscular injury he picked up two weeks ago and available for selection for Monday’s Egyptian Cup quarter-final against Smouha.

The 23-year-old was forced off the field on 34 minutes while in action for the Cairo giants in their 0-0 draw with Moroccan outfit Wydad Casablanca at the Cairo International Stadium in the CAF Champions League.

He rejoined his teammates in training on Saturday ahead of their trip to Alexandria.

"Gamal and Antwi are ready for Smouha match after recovering and featuring in Saturday's training," Ahly's website declared.

Al Ahly have lost promising defender Ramadan Sobhi who has joined Stoke City and Malick Evouna’s move to Chinese Tianjin Teda.
