Former Medeama SC Coach Hans Van Der Pluijm has rated the Ghana Premier League ahead of the Tanzanian Super League.

The Dutch trainer spent most of his career in the country working with Heart of Lions, Berekum Chelsea and Medeama SC before leaving for Tanzania to Coach Young Africans.

The experienced tactician recently guided his team YANGA as they suffered a defeat to his former Club Medeama in the CAF Confederations Cup competition.

Hans Van Der Pluijm has hence blamed his side’s defeat to the quality in the Ghana Premier League.

“The Ghana league is a bit ahead of the Tanzanian league. Ghana started many years ago already with football academies and has developed players at young ages with the technically and tactically basics of football,” he told Ghana Sports Newspaper.

“Late Ben Kouffie, Sam Addey and Francis Oti Akenteng are the ones who have done a lot for development of Ghana football.

“I qualified Heart of Lions to the Premier league for the first time and Confederations Cup. With Goldfields I also qualified them to the Confederations Cup and won Asantehene Cup.”

The Coach helped Berekum Chelsea to win their first ever Premier League title in 2011 and also helped them to the Group stage of the CAF Champions League.
