Former National Sports Council chief Dr. Emmanuel Owusu Ansah has praised Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi for becoming the only Ghanaian on an international sports body.

Nyantakyi is a member of FIFA’s Associations Committee which shall deal with relations between FIFA and its Members and draw up proposals for optimum cooperation.

Dr. Owusu Ansah was speaking at the first edition of the Joy Sports Dialogue Series where expressed concern about the back of Ghanaians on world’s sports governing bodies which the thought was impeding development in the country.

“I looked through all the commissions in the international sports federations, and I saw only one name; Kwesi Nyantakyi. He is a member of one of the committees of FIFA, and he is the only Ghanaian and I pray that they maintain him,” he said.

“He has the potential and capacity to become a member of FIFA. It is sad news that we don’t have any representative.”

The theme of the dialogue was 'finding a permanent solution to the funding problems in the sports sector'.
