Young Ghana forward Abdul Basit Adam has signed up with Turkish club, Giresunspor, following his release by Free State Stars.

Basit, 20, who featured for the Ghana Under-23 team in an All Africa Games qualifier a few months ago, recently failed to land a deal with a Belgian club after going on trials and was subsequently given clearance by the unimpressed South African PSL side to look for a new club as a free agent.

He had made just two starts and featured in a few games as a substitute for the Ea Lla Koto in the 2014/15 season.

Basit arrived in Turkey over the weekend and has signed to a two-year contract after successfully passing his medical.

"It is a great opportunity for me to be here. I have had a wonderful welcome," he said at his introduction.

"I will strive to see to the success of the club with my contribution. My job is to score goals and I hope to have a great spell in the Giresunspor shirt."

Giresunspor have their home grounds at the Giresun Ataturk Stadium and compete in the second tier of the Turkish football league system. They finished 11th last season.
