Atsu is determined to succeed at Bournemouth

Christian Atsu has vowed that he will be a success at Bournemouth, having moved to the Premier League new boys on loan from Chelsea.

The winger endured a torrid time on loan at Everton last season, but was given a second chance to impress in the top flight when the Cherries opted to take him on a season-long loan deal at the beginning of the summer.

The Ghana international has insisted that the 2015-16 season will be much more prosperous than last season, where he largely failed to assert himself at Goodison Park.

“I am responsible for my failure at Everton last season. I am determined to go a step further at Bournemouth in the coming season,” the 23-year-old began, as reported by SuperSport.

”I am going to work hard and be a regular starter at Bournemouth,” he concluded.

Despite starring at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, emerging as the Black Stars’ key man as Avram Grant’s side reached the continental final, Atsu wholly failed to ignite during his campaign with the Toffees.

The former FC Porto man managed only five Premier League outings—of which only one was a start—and contributed only one assist throughout the whole of the season. The arrival of Aaron Lennon on loan from Tottenham Hotspur, and Everton’s elimination from the Europa League ensured that the wideman was a peripheral figure for the latter portion of the campaign.

However, he should find first-team opportunities much easier to come by at Bournemouth, who are set for their first-ever campaign in England’s top division.

Despite moving to Chelsea back in 2013, Atsu is yet to make a senior appearance for Jose Mourinho’s side, having spent his first year at the club on loan at Pensioners’ feeder side Vitesse Arnhem.

He will be hoping that his season at Dean Court can help make up for lost time and finally confirm his class to the British public.
