Black Stars Management Committee Vice Chairman, Wilfred Osei Palmer, has expressed worry that Ghana might face difficult teams in the group stages of the 2017 AFCON to be staged in Gabon.

Reacting to Ghana’s seeding within the top teams for the AFCON draw later in the year, Mr Palmer said: “If you look at the other ports, that is two, three, and four, you realise that no team will come cheap, in the sense that Tunisia, Mali, Burkina Faso, and DR Congo can be a mouthful for anyone.”

He told Class Sports: “If you also look at Pot Three – containing Cameroon, Senegal, Togo – all these teams are stewards so far as African football is concerned"

Hosts Gabon as well as Ghana, Algeria and holders Cote d’Ivoire, on Tuesday September 27, emerged top seeds for the draw of the final tournament of the Total Africa Cup of Nations Gabon 2017.

The quartet will make up Pot One for the draw to be held on Wednesday, 19 October, 2016 in Libreville.
