Andre's rabona nominated for goal of the season

Ghana midfielder, Andre Ayew is in contention for the National Union of Professional Footballers (UNFP) goal of the season award after his goal for Marseille against Reims was penciled down in the 5-man shortlist.

The 24-year-old’s goal in the French Ligue 1 receive the highest votes before he can win the award in January 2013.

The Ghana international is competing with players like Alexy Bosetti, Damien da Silva, Carlos Eduardo and Julien Palmieri.

Marseille were 3-0 up after 52 minutes, and Ayew decided to up the ante when he was presented with another chance seven minutes later.

So when a shot was spilled straight to his feet, Ayew elected to pass up the opportunity for a simple six-yard tap-in and instead try something a bit fancier, pulling off a rabona to beat substitute goalkeeper Kossi Agassa.
