‘We can still qualify’

Juventus midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah believes that his team can still qualify to the next stage of the UEFA Champions League if they are able to win both matches against Malmo and Atletico Madrid.

Juventus lie third on the Group A table with 6 points out of 4 matches, a result which according to him is not that good considering their pedigree in the competition.

“I believe we can still qualify if we win the next two matches. The team is focused and I am happy that we don’t have too many injuries in the team,” Asamoah mentioned to sportscrusader.com.

Juventus will play as guests to Malmo fc in Wednesday’s Champions League, but Asamoah is not likely to feature due to an injury he sustained two weeks ago.

Juventus have lost their two away matches in Group A without scoring, 1-0 defeats at Atlético and Olympiacos and have been beaten in five of their last six away games in the UEFA Champions League, drawing the other. Their last win outside Turin was at Celtic FC (3-0) in the 2012/13 round of 16.

But Kwadwo Asamoah says the team is poised to win the match on Wednesday.

“It’s true we haven’t won any away match in the Champions League for some time now. But we are confident that come Wednesday, we will win in Sweden to make our chances of qualifying a brighter one”.
